When getting on the Cancun Airport bridge you’ll need to take the exit like if you were going to Playa del Carmen.
Once you get on the Highway to Playa del Carmen (307) after about one mile from the Cancun Airport bridge you’ll have a deviation on your right hand side with a sign “Chichen Itza Cuota”, take the deviation.
Taking this deviation, you’ll be on the toll road highway to Chichen Itza (180D) you just need to follow the signs and you’ll get there safely.
There are different bus lines that you can take from Cancun to Chichen Itza, but the best option is taking the ADO bus. There are a couple of departures per day and it would get you to Chichen Itza in about 2:30 hrs.
Chichen Itza is located in the state of Yucatan in the Yucatan Peninsula and it is exactly 197 km away or 122 miles and it will take you about 2:30 hrs. to get from Cancun to Chichen Itza using the toll road highway 180D.
You can also use the free highway 180, this will add 9 kilometers to your route and it will take about 3 hrs. to get to Chichen Itza from Cancun, this is mainly because you’ll be going through small little towns and you have to slow down in everyone.
