Free Admission to Chichén Itzá for Yucatán Residents

Free admission to Chichen Itza for Yucatecans for the rest of 2026!

According to INAH, anyone living in any of the 106 municipalities of Yucatán can enter the Chichén Itzá Archaeological Zone free of charge. This benefit is available Monday through Sunday for the rest of 2026.

Unlike the regular free admission on Sundays, which applies to local visitors, Mexican citizens, and foreign residents in Mexico, Yucatán residents do not have to pay either the federal or state entrance fee, no matter which day they visit.

These are the requirements for free admission to Chichen Itzá for locals and residents:

  • Be a resident of one of the 106 municipalities in the state of Yucatán.
  • Present a valid official ID (INE).
  • If you are under 18, the accompanying adult must present their official ID.

  • General admission: MXN $697

  • Buses and minibuses: MXN $199
